What Is Blended Care?
Blended care involves two or more different but complementary disciplines that work together on a combined treatment plan in partnership with the person. Since research has shown that a combination of treatments is often better than any one of the treatments alone, we strive to offer the highest level of treatment and support through our blended care approach.
For example, if a person is experiencing symptoms of depression, blended care can include a psychiatric evaluation in combination with an herbalist, nutritionist, or psychologist. This provides a more holistic, integrative, and natural treatment plan solutions vs. pure medical management alone.
Because the work-up is integrative at the beginning of care, people can experience the benefits of combined treatments efficiently and conveniently. Contact Integrative Psychiatry Austin to schedule a consultation.
Blended care is most effective when:
- Additional services are required to augment vital care and enhance treatment
- A conventional model of care has been unsuccessful
- You are interested in exploring other avenues beyond medicine alone
- A long-term solution is preferred
- The issue being treated is seen as a growth opportunity
Benefits of Blended Care
Blended care can result in more efficient symptom control and provide additional treatment options beyond medicine alone. This can result in a savings of both time and money.
Initial appointments are focused on a treatment plan coordinated with your team (your physician assistant, nutritionist, and psychiatrist). You will see more than one practitioner who will coordinate your care. Appointments can range from one to three hours with each practitioner depending on the particulars of a case. Follow-up appointments can vary from 30 to 45 minutes. Family therapy appointments are typically 60 minutes.
The fee for blended care depends on which combination of practitioners are consulted and for how long. In general, expect to spend anywhere from $900 and beyond for the initial visit. The fee for lab investigations and medication/herb/nutrient costs are not included in the consultation fee. For more details please contact us.
Blended Care can also include these treatments in combination:
- Psychotherapy
- Medication Management
Second Opinions - Nutritional Intervention
- Herbal Intervention
- Neuropsychological Testing
- Ketamine Evaluation
- Treatment Program Follow-up
- Health Maintenance
- Genetic testing
- Functional Medicine evaluation.
- qEEG service
During your initial consultation, your team will work with you to coordinate a treatment plan that ensures you will receive the highest level of care.
